Wildlife

The beck is flanked by tall reeds where water voles burrow in the banks and feed on waterside plants. New ponds have been created to provide a home for frogs, toads and newts.

As part of the Tees Wildlife Living Waterways project, there’s evidence of water voles returning to the beck!

Art and sculpture

The nature reserve has several installations including a wildlife bench by Graham Cooper and a large metal spider spinning a web.
