Bongo’s Bingo are welcoming a unique theme for May at The Hub, blending two iconic decades together like a crazy experiment just to see what happens.
And what two better decades to face off than the 90s and 00s?
Each decade is packed with pop-culture chaos, fantastic fashion, technological advances, sporting triumphs, and a liberal sprinkling of political global upheaval for good measure.
This show is going to kick-start the summer on Friday 29 May with all May dates on sale.
First up, the 90s remains one of the truly iconic decades – a halcyon period of relative innocence and the Spice Girls redefining girl power. There were no mobile phones, no social media and TV series dominated: Friends, Twin Peaks, The X Files and The Simpsons formed part of a golden age. Or from Britpop wars and secret raves to Harry Potter. From the 90s, Bongo’s Bingo is bigging up the Backstreet Boys to Nirvana and TLC to 2Pac, all part of the decade which gave dial-up internet and Tamagotchis.
Or… maybe the Noughties is better. Is it? This era birthed gadgetry including the iPod, PS2, and who could forget Nokia’s classic Snake and limited minutes? From Hey Ya and Crazy in Love to Daft Punk’s absolute classic, One More Time. How will they compare against 90s icons like Haddaway’s What Is Love, Smells Like Teen Spirit and Nothing Compares 2 U.
You can book your tickets now.
As always, at Bongo’s Bingo the music’s where it’s at – and of course copious bingo, dance-offs, rave rounds and prizes. Expect all the usual madness plus special themed prizes for the complete immersive experience.
Fancy dress is very much encouraged to get fully into the mood.
