Welcome to Teesside by Peter Benson is a new exhibition opening at The Heritage Gallery.
Running from Thursday 30 April to Friday 5 June, the exhibition features photographs taken by Peter between 1968 and 1999.
The photos document a range of subjects and locations around Teesside.
The 50 black and white images on display were inspired by Peter’s interest in the demolition and clearance of the built environment between the Newport Bridge and the Transporter Bridge in Middlesbrough.
This project started while he was a student at Cleveland College of Art and expanded to include Port Clarence, High Clarence, Haverton Hill, Seaton Carew, and Hartlepool – all of which were to become parts of what is now Teesside.
The grand opening takes place on Thursday 30 April from 5pm until 7pm.
It will be a great opportunity to meet Peter and ask any questions you may have about the work on display.
Drinks and nibbles will be provided by Iron Co Coffee House on behalf of Python Properties.
More information about this event can be found at the Middlesbrough Box office website.
