Exciting new restaurant brand Umami will be the latest business to open at Captain Cook Square.
The thriving leisure destination in Middlesbrough town centre will welcome the global eaterie later this year.
Umami is a family-friendly pan-Asian buffet restaurant offering a wide selection of tasty international dishes.
It is part of the COSMO Group, which operates brands including COSMO and Firebird with almost two dozen branches nationwide.

Mayor of Middlesbrough Chris Cooke said:
“I’m pleased to welcome Umami and delighted we’ve attracted another exciting new brand to Middlesbrough.
“Captain Cook Square is thriving and already home to fantastic businesses which have reinvigorated the area and provided dozens of good quality jobs.
“Its success shows how our town centre can change and become a destination where people want to live, work, study and socialise.
“I’m sure Umami will flourish and I can’t wait for people in Middlesbrough to get the chance to try it.”
Middlesbrough Council bought the square in 2020 and has used government funding to remodel former shops for leisure use.
Umami will open in the unit next door to the popular Bazaar restaurant and spread over two floors of the building, which used to be home to the MFC retail store.
It will join family entertainment venue Level X – featuring a go-karting track, virtual reality zone and ten-pin bowling – the Fun Shack soft play centre, trampoline park InflateSpace, Wendy’s fast food and boutique cinema Roxy Movies.
